Sweat Plan for the Week of January 22nd

Last week was pretty successful, some new work was adding to the training plan as I started to ramp things up a bit – the incredible weather here in Toronto certainly helps. Monday alone was a killer day, but SO good! I gave everything that I had to give for my last sweat day of being 26. My Fuel Training session had be wearing the ‘birthday vest’, aka the 25lb – 30lb weight vest for the duration of a wild 34 minute cardio/weight burner. I was determined to finish that workout even with the additional weight and I did. It was a humbling to wear to carry around the extra weight, it was a subtle reminder of where I have come from in the last 5 years, I used to be about 20 – 25lbs heavier at my heaviest. After a burner in the morning I hit up the hills with Tribe Fitness where I was not quitting on myself, completing five hill repeats with Diana by my side. I don’t think that I could have sent 26 off in a better way, it was time to finish this year the way I intended to spend my 27th.

This week in my plan you’ll see some additional strength training out side of my Fuel Training sessions. It’s important that I start doing some additional localized strength training for my personal fit goals and also in preparation for some of the events that I have in the year ahead. As my cardio/running training ramps up for my 1/2 marathon training plan it will be critical that it’s balanced out with additional strength/weight training focus.

There is just over a week left in January and I’ve only had 2 – 3 days with no work this month, hoping to keep it consistent and making sure to get something in each day until January 31st! Here’s where you can find me getting my sweat on this week!

Sunday January 22nd

  • Tribe Roll Out at The Attic (lululemon Queen West)

Monday January 23rd

  • Tribe Fitness Hill Training at 7pm

Tuesday January 24th

  • Fuel Training at 6am
  • Walk 10,000 steps

Wednesday January 25th

  • Tribe Fitness Community Run at 7pm
  • Strength training on my own (30 mins.)

Thursday January 26th

  • Fuel Training at 6am
  • Walk 10,000 steps

Friday January 27th

  • Walk 10,000 steps

Saturday January 28th

  • Tribe Fitness ATB Long Run in Hamilton – goal to run 15km
